About the role#
Walter P Moore is seeking a part-time Accounting Intern to join the Finance team in the Downtown Houston office. This role offers hands-on experience in corporate accounting through a commitment of 20 to 30 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Input financial transactions, including invoices, deposits, and payments, into accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Assist with weekly check runs.
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations.
- Support financial audits.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues.
- Provide administrative support and complete assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new accounting software quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
