About the role#
As a technical intern in the Construction Polymers group, you will focus on projects evaluating the physical properties of cementitious mortars. You will examine the interactions between different inorganic and organic chemistries while using design of experiment methods and baselining raw materials. This role provides exposure to various technical departments to help you understand the breadth of applications at Wacker.
What you'll do#
- Perform hands-on evaluations following ASTM, ANSI, and ISO testing standards.
- Learn the testing parameters of other ongoing projects within the technical group.
- Gain exposure to different business functions to understand the company operations.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Chemistry.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow laboratory procedures and work independently in a safe manner.
- Capability to lift 50 pounds.
- A general chemical laboratory background is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with construction, specifically cementitious mortars, is preferred.

- This position is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
- The role is a rolling, full-time, paid internship.
- We offer a hybrid work arrangement.
