About the role#
As a Data Science intern within Fiber Engineering and Operations, you will work at the intersection of predictive machine learning, generative AI, and large-scale network infrastructure. You will own end-to-end predictive modeling projects and stress-test agentic AI tools. This role involves applying systems thinking and data-driven reasoning to optimize field operations across Verizon Telecom and Verizon Fiber footprints. You will collaborate with mentors across various business units to streamline complex processes.

What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Good academic standing.
- Experience in advanced predictive analytics and data architecture.
- Familiarity with generative AI frameworks and tools including LangChain, AutoGPT, Google Gemini, and NotebookLM.
- Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional projects.
- Strong complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Track record of rapid skill acquisition and entrepreneurial initiative.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in written and verbal formats.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
- Willingness and ability to travel and relocate.

- Position: Full-time, 10-week summer internship.
- Dates: June 2027 to August 2027.
- Location: Irving, Texas.
- Modality: Hybrid, with a mix of remote work and assigned office days.
