About the role#
As a Data Science intern within Fiber Engineering and Operations, you will work at the intersection of machine learning, generative AI, and network infrastructure. You will own end-to-end predictive modeling projects and stress-test agentic AI tools. Your work will directly optimize field operations across Verizon Telecom and Verizon Fiber footprints. You will collaborate with mentors across business units and participate in the Intern Marquee event in Basking Ridge, NJ.

What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related major.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 with good academic standing.
- Ability to work a full-time, 10-week hybrid internship from June 2027 to August 2027.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.
- Willingness and ability to travel and relocate.
- Experience in advanced predictive analytics and data architecture.
- Familiarity with generative AI frameworks and tools such as LangChain, AutoGPT, Google Gemini, and NotebookLM.
- Strong complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional projects.
- A track record of rapid skill acquisition and entrepreneurial initiative.
- Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication.
Location & details#
- Location: Irving, Texas.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office as set by your manager.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
