About the role#
This is a full-time, paid co-op or internship position based at the plant in Rainier, Oregon. You will join the team for the Winter 2027 term, running from January through June. This is an on-site role that focuses on mechanical improvements and facility maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Work with department managers to find solutions for equipment and process problems.
- Develop and carry out plans for non-routine maintenance and capital improvements.
- Monitor and execute the plant safety program.
- Manage assigned capital projects from start to finish.
- Design mechanical innovations using your technical training.
- Help maintain plant equipment and facilities to reduce downtime.
- Coordinate special projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Engineering.
- Strong skills in leadership, communication, and decision-making.
- Ability to manage costs and operate within a planned budget.
- High level of organization to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with safety compliance programs, including a focus on quality and housekeeping.
