About the role#
USAA is hiring Actuarial Analyst Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site internship program designed to provide practical experience in pricing, modeling, reserving, and risk assessment within the financial services industry. Interns work alongside managers and mentors to deliver solutions to business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Perform actuarial analyses for new products, future projections, repricing, and financial strength assessments.
- Build foundational knowledge of USAA business operations, products, and internal processes.
- Utilize actuarial modeling software to support pricing, valuation, and risk management tasks.
- Enter data, run models, and generate reports while following established risk and compliance procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or Finance.
- Expected graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029 (must graduate after the internship concludes).
- Completion of one or more actuarial exams.
- Demonstrated leadership through work, extracurriculars, or community service.
- Prior quantitative internship or related employment experience.
- Familiarity with data analysis and actuarial techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages or tools such as SQL, VBA, SAS, R, or Python.
- Ability to communicate technical topics to a broad audience.

- This internship is based on-site in San Antonio, Texas, or Charlotte, North Carolina.
- The program runs from June 2, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
- This is a paid internship position.
