About the role#
As a Community Relations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in event planning, communications, and relationship building. This role is designed for students interested in careers within public relations, social work, nonprofit management, or community development. You will work directly from our corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas, throughout the ten-week summer program.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with executive leadership to organize Habitat for Humanity builds in various cities.
- Coordinate community events, including food drives, farmers markets, and back-to-school fairs.
- Assist with the scholarship awards process.
- Help source sponsorships for annual charity events.
- Handle general administrative tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be a rising Junior or above at an accredited four-year college or university.
- A cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience or coursework in Public Relations, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or Community Development is preferred.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States. We do not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Plano, Texas.
- The program runs for ten weeks, from May 25 to July 30, 2027.
