About the role#
Student Financial Services is looking for a student employee to provide customer service to students, families, and campus partners. You will act as the first point of contact for questions about student accounts, billing, payments, scholarships, and financial aid. This position requires you to work on campus in Laramie, Wyoming.
What you'll do#
- Staff the front counter and assist visitors in person, by phone, and via email.
- Monitor a shared email inbox to respond to inquiries or route them to the correct staff.
- Represent the office at orientations, workshops, resource fairs, and other outreach events.
- Discuss financial topics with students and families.
- Serve as a peer counselor to help improve financial literacy across campus.
- Provide general office support as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be a student on the University of Wyoming main campus.
- Ability to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfort discussing financial topics.
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Previous office or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Laramie, Wyoming.
- The role is part-time and paid.
- For the fall 2026 semester, the department has a specific need for coverage on Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 to 4:30, and Friday from 9:30 to 1:30.
