About the role#
The Disability Support Services office at the University of Wyoming is hiring a Work Study Office Aide. This role supports the office through daily administrative tasks and test proctoring. You will engage with a diverse population of students, faculty, and visitors while developing office management and interpersonal skills.
What you'll do#
- Welcome visitors to the office and answer incoming phone calls.
- Schedule appointments and assist students with the referral process.
- Perform general office duties including filing, shredding, and making copies.
- Administer and proctor student exams, which includes managing testing materials like laptops and software.
- Provide specific testing accommodations such as exam reading and scribing.
- Handle sensitive situations involving students in crisis or potential academic dishonesty.
- Ensure all exams are returned promptly and follow established office protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a University of Wyoming student.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Eligibility for a work study award, with the award already received and accepted through Student Financial Aid.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and follow departmental protocols.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Reliability and the ability to maintain a consistent work schedule.
- Capacity to work both as part of a team and independently without supervision.
Location & details#
- Location: Laramie, Wyoming. This is an on-site position based at Knight Hall.
- Compensation: $14.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Shifts are available Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
