About the role#
Newman University is hiring a student for a community service role within the Financial Aid department. This position involves working directly with students in grades K-4 at St. Joseph Catholic School. You will work up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a schedule tailored to your classes.
What you'll do#
- Tutor students in reading and math, working with them individually or in small groups.
- Listen to students read.
- Help students with reading comprehension activities and projects.
- Assist teachers with preparing classroom materials and projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Newman University as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours).
- Work-study eligibility.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Completion of VIRTUS training (can be finished after you are hired).
- Previous experience working with children is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: St. Joseph Catholic School in Wichita, Kansas. You must provide your own transportation.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Pay: $8.25 per hour.
