This role works under the supervision of the Director of Security and assists with routine monitoring, patrols, and customer service functions across campus.Work Performed:Conduct foot or vehicle patrols of assigned areasSupport access control procedures (unlocking/locking buildings, monitoring entrances)Provide general assistance and information to students, staff, and visitorsReport suspicious activity, hazards, or incidents to the Director of Security or appropriate personnelAssist with special events or campus activities, including crowd management and safety supportComplete basic logs, reports, or incident documentation as requiredFollow all university safety policies and proceduresAssist in monitoring campus buildings and grounds to promote safety and securityRequirements Required Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills/Training:Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsReliable attendance, professionalism, and strong integrityAbility to remain calm and professional in various situationsMaintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information or incidentsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work 12–20 hours per week around academic schedulesAvailability for afternoon/evening shifts and occasional special eventsBasic knowledge of campus layout and facilities preferredPrevious customer service or security-related experience preferredPhysical Requirements During Work Shift:Ability to walk campus grounds for extended periodsAbility to climb stairs and perform routine patrol activitiesAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsAbility to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds
