About the role#
The School of Data Science at the University of Virginia is hiring student workers to support daily building operations, events, and basic IT and AV needs. This role is for students who are detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a professional setting. You will help keep the building running smoothly through tasks ranging from restocking supplies to assisting with event setup.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a friendly, professional presence at the front desk and provide information to visitors.
- Restock kitchen and bathroom supplies and monitor shared spaces for cleanliness.
- Accept, sort, and deliver mail and packages.
- Maintain a daily parking log for reserved and visitor spots.
- Perform weekly inventory checks and compile purchase lists.
- Provide set-up and take-down support for internal events.
- Assist with AV setup, equipment inventory, and occasional IT projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a UVA student in good academic standing.
- Federal work-study eligibility.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs on occasion.

- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Hours: Part-time, approximately 10 hours per week.
