About the role#
The Coordinator for Graduate Student Engagement develops and manages recruitment events, outreach initiatives, and engagement experiences for prospective graduate students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. You will work closely with academic colleges, campus partners, and Graduate School leadership to build a strong pipeline from undergraduate study to graduate programs. This role involves managing the Graduate Student Ambassador Program and overseeing recruitment operations through Slate and other enrollment systems.
What you'll do#
- Plan and execute university-wide graduate recruitment events, including open houses, recruitment fairs, and prospective student visit programs.
- Develop and implement outreach initiatives in partnership with university departments such as Honors and TRiO.
- Manage the Graduate Student Ambassador Program, including recruiting, training, and supervising a cohort of graduate students.
- Coordinate virtual programming, webinars, and information sessions for prospective students.
- Use Slate and other systems to manage event registration, logistics, attendance tracking, and follow-up communications.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment events and outreach through data analysis and participant feedback to recommend improvements.
- Create resource materials, such as presentation guides and FAQs, to ensure consistent messaging for the Graduate School.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of professional experience in higher education admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, student services, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating outreach campaigns, recruitment initiatives, or student engagement programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with standard office software and experience using event registration systems or CRM platforms is preferred.
