About the role#
The Senior Associate Director of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships provides operational leadership within the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. This position reports to the Director and exercises independent judgment in managing personnel, daily operations, and scholarship processes while ensuring alignment with institutional policies and regulatory frameworks.
What you'll do#
- Provide oversight of institutional, foundation, and departmental scholarship operations to ensure alignment with donor requirements and strategic objectives.
- Assist the Director in the administration and oversight of federal Title IV financial aid programs, including awarding, disbursement, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Develop and monitor internal controls and operational procedures to support regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
- Supervise professional and support staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and workload distribution.
- Partner with campus stakeholders such as the Bursar, Registrar, Athletics, and Advancement to support coordinated service delivery.
- Resolve escalated student issues and service concerns while maintaining a student-centered approach.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
- Significant progressively responsible experience in financial aid, scholarships, or student services.
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing multiple functional areas.
- Working knowledge of financial aid operations and program administration.
- Familiarity with federal Title IV programs and systems is preferred.

- Salary: $80,200 - $90,000.
