About the role#
Albright College Institute of Nonprofit and Civic Administration hires junior or senior students in Accounting or Finance for this part-time, temporary consulting role. You will provide fractional financial services to nonprofits and governmental entities. You will work under the supervision of the Finance Manager to support public-sector financial operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform bank account reconciliations and audit reconciliations.
- Enter Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Create General Ledger entries and enter budgeting forecasts.
- Develop financial reporting and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Assist with the implementation of accounting systems.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager to prioritize assignments.
- Work with client staff to provide efficient business services.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a junior or senior in the Albright College Finance or Accounting program.
- Familiarity with GAAP and GASB.
- Basic knowledge of budget development and reporting.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to municipal finance.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects.
- A current and valid PA Driver’s License.
- Previous experience in governmental accounting or auditing is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Reading, Pennsylvania.
- Work is performed through a hybrid model of remote and on-site tasks depending on client needs.
- This is a part-time, paid position with a rolling term.
