About the role#
The Office of Compliance Assistance and Enforcement is looking for a Student Assistant to support staff with administrative and engineering tasks. This is a paid, part-time, and temporary position that offers a flexible schedule during standard business hours. The role is remote, but you must reside in California for the duration of your employment.
What you'll do#
- Organize and maintain enforcement case files.
- Create presentations and coordinate meetings.
- Perform market research to identify enforcement leads.
- Sort and filter data sets to locate outliers.
- Research appliance regulations and test procedures.
- Review test reports and data submitted to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System for accuracy.
- Assist investigators and management with various projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution.
- A minimum GPA of 2.0.
- A declared major in Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Willingness to use tools like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Location & details#
- This position is fully remote, though you must reside in California throughout your employment.
- Work hours are flexible between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
- You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
- Compensation ranges from $20.08 to $35.70 per hour.
