About the role#
The Employment Law Project at the New York Legal Assistance Group provides legal representation for cases involving discrimination, wage and hour disputes, sick and family leave, and unemployment insurance. This internship is open to current law students interested in public interest law.
What you'll do#
- Conduct client intake and interviews.
- Perform legal research and draft legal documents, including demand letters and pleadings.
- Assist with ongoing litigation tasks as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Status as a current law student.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- A commitment to public interest law.
- Professional demeanor and communication skills.
- Spanish fluency is preferred.

- This is an on-site position based in New York, NY.
- The internship terms are for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
