About the role#
The WELL Recreation Center at Sacramento State is hiring students to serve as Intramural Sports Event Supervisors. This position involves managing daily operations at intramural sports sites, including the oversight of both virtual and in-person contests. You will act as a point of contact for participants and officials to ensure the program runs safely and according to established rules.
What you'll do#
- Supervise intramural sports events and officiate contests.
- Manage participants, sports officials, and program sites.
- Enforce rules regarding safety, risk management, and sportsmanship.
- Verify player eligibility on-site and maintain knowledge of roster regulations.
- Prepare nightly reports documenting contest results and staffing hours.
- Assist with equipment organization and maintenance.
- Provide First Aid or CPR support when necessary.
- Collaborate with program supervisors to plan training materials and event logistics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Sacramento State, with at least nine units for undergraduates or six units for graduate students.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms.
- Capacity to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Communications, Kinesiology, Public Health, Sociology, and Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Shifts are available Sunday through Friday, generally up to 20 hours per week during the academic year.
- Compensation: $17.65 per hour.
