About the role#
The Graduate Assistant for Reservation and Event Services supports the Director in managing campus events year-round, including Summer Camps and Conferences. This role involves supervising student employees and ensuring that campus facilities are used effectively. You will work across various university departments to coordinate guest services and event logistics.
What you'll do#
- Provide supervisory support to student staff, assist with training, and help assign tasks.
- Use scheduling software to enter event details and monitor client requests.
- Run reports from the reservation system to manage daily workflows.
- Collaborate with departments like Dining Services, Residence Life, and Public Safety to coordinate events.
- Assist with guest services, facilities, and custodial coordination for summer camps.
- Attend camp check-ins and welcome meetings to support university clients.
- Participate in an emergency on-call rotation during the summer, which includes documenting situations and providing follow-up.
- Support events outside of normal business hours and during school breaks when necessary.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree and current full-time enrollment in an eligible Carroll University graduate program.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured under university policy.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in higher education or an events office environment is preferred.
