About the role#
The Esports Event Caster serves as the primary on-air personality and storyteller for live competitive broadcasts. This position works on-site in the broadcast studio to translate game mechanics into engaging narrative commentary for the audience. You will support the Esports Manager by providing meta-game knowledge and delivering structured analysis during tournaments.
What you'll do#
- Deliver live play-by-play or color commentary during tournament broadcasts.
- Lead pre-match introductions, half-time breakdowns, and post-match wrap-ups.
- Conduct professional interviews with players, team captains, and coaching staff.
- Participate in production meetings, audio mic checks, and follow real-time broadcast cues.
- Research team match histories, player stat trends, and win conditions.
What you'll need#
- Strong vocal control and clear diction.
- Knowledge of competitive game titles including Overwatch, Valorant, or Smash Bros.
- Ability to meet timelines with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Current enrollment as a student at Academy of Art University.

- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, including some weekends.
- Term: Rolling employment from the start of your term through graduation.
