About the role#
This Federal Work Study position supports the Jewelry and Metal Arts Department at the Academy of Art University. You will assist with daily toolroom operations, helping students and faculty access equipment while gaining experience in customer service and administrative tasks. This role is open to students in Art and Industrial Design programs.
What you'll do#
- Check tools and equipment in and out for faculty and students.
- Monitor lab usage to ensure everyone follows department policies.
- Assist with the maintenance of approved tools and lab equipment.
- Handle general administrative tasks for the department.
What you'll need#
- Basic computer skills.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Location & details#
- Location: 410 Bush Street, 1st Floor Toolroom, San Francisco, California.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Up to 20 hours per week.
- Duration: This is a rolling position that lasts from your starting term through graduation.
- Compensation: $19.61 per hour, plus paid sick leave.
- Eligibility: You must be a Federal Work Study student. Your work schedule must not conflict with your class schedule.
