About the role#
The Federal Work Study Videographer & Editor assists the Game Department in documenting student work, faculty highlights, and department events. This role helps showcase projects such as collaborative documentaries, game showcases, and interviews. You will work directly with the Game Department Manager and Creative Media Intern to build your technical skills in video production while supporting the department's media needs.
What you'll do#
- Plan, shoot, and edit professional videos in coordination with department staff.
- Operate cameras, audio equipment, and various production tools.
- Maintain and organize video assets, including raw footage, project files, and final deliverables.
- Review raw footage to create trimmed selects for editing.
- Edit both long-form and short-form content.
- Collaborate on technical tasks like project setup and file organization.
- Implement feedback to ensure all content meets department standards.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Experience with camera operations, audio recording, and visual storytelling.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage large amounts of footage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of file sharing and export processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to different formats.
Location & details#
- Location: 180 New Montgomery Street, Room 822, San Francisco, California.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
- Hours: 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Pay: $19.61 per hour.
- This is a Federal Work Study position.
