About the role#
Music Library assistants help patrons find research materials, manage reserve resources, and handle circulation desk tasks. You will ensure the collection remains organized and accessible for students and faculty. This is a part-time, on-site position requiring 6-8 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and assist with desk transactions.
- Shelve books, musical scores, CDs, DVDs, and periodicals.
- Help students and faculty use copiers and printers.
- Maintain a clean and quiet environment for study and listening.
- Assist the fine arts department with projects like signage or errands.
- Manage course reserves for quick retrieval.
- Perform physical tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University.
- Ability to use computers for basic circulation tasks.
- Basic knowledge of musical terms and genres.
- Strong attention to detail for filing items correctly.
