Biology Lab Assistant (Student)

About the role#

The Biology Lab Assistant supports the daily operations of biology laboratory courses at Bob Jones University. This position involves both technical laboratory preparation and building oversight, requiring a student who can maintain safety standards while assisting peers with their coursework.

What you'll do#

• Prepare reagents and supplies for biology laboratory courses, including full setup and tear-down of lab materials.
• Assist students with gathering necessary supplies during experiments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Manage inventory levels for supplies and reagents, requesting orders as needed.
• Monitor science building activities and enforce student life policies during nights and weekends.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University.
• Enrollment in the Biology, Premed/pre-dent, or Biochemistry and Molecular Biology programs; students in other Natural Sciences or Science Education programs will also be considered.
• Ability to perform basic laboratory techniques with diligence and accuracy.
• Demonstrated leadership or collaborative skills.
