About the role#
The Biological Sciences Department at East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Student Lead Lab Research Assistant to support ongoing academic research and laboratory operations. This is a paid, part-time position requiring up to 10 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist with experiments, including preparing solutions and monitoring results.
- Collect and verify data accuracy.
- Prepare reagents, media, and other necessary research materials.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure it stays in good working order.
- Record observations and compile data for research reports.
- Learn new research techniques and methodologies under supervisor guidance.
- Follow established safety protocols for handling chemicals and biological materials.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective communication abilities for working with researchers and instructors.
- Experience with basic laboratory techniques, such as handling samples and using equipment.
- English literacy skills.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
