About the role#
The HVAC Assistant supports the Heating and Air Conditioning Department at Bob Jones University. This position is open to current students and offers hands-on experience with campus mechanical systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine maintenance by changing HVAC filters.
- Assist in replacing non-operating air conditioning units.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on motors and blowers.
- Access various areas of campus infrastructure, including tunnels, crawl spaces, and roofs.
- Use extension ladders as required for maintenance tasks.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds occasionally.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University, Academy, or AHE.
- A mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand and electric tools.
- Availability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Majors considered include Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, and Kinesiology.
