About the role#
The Department of General Services is seeking three Student Assistants to join the Medical Management Section within the Office of Human Resources. This team manages protected leave, disability transactions, workers' compensation, and reasonable accommodation requests. You will report to the Assistant Section Chief and provide administrative and programmatic support in a hybrid work environment.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and evaluate FMLA, CFRA, and reasonable accommodation requests.
- Prepare recommendations, reports, and correspondence.
- Manage email accounts to ensure protected leave requests are processed on time.
- Develop and maintain an annual training calendar for the Medical Management Section.
- Process mail and scan documents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or Sociology.
- Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- This position is based in West Sacramento, California.
- Work is performed in a hybrid, remote, or on-site capacity.
- This is a part-time, non-benefited position.
