About the role#
Orange Veterinary Hospital offers clinical externships for veterinary students looking to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting. This program focuses on mentorship and professional development within a full-service, AAHA-accredited general practice. You will work alongside doctors and support staff to gain experience in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, pain management, and dentistry.
What you'll do#
- Participate in case discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
- Engage in hands-on patient care for dogs and cats.
- Assist with surgical cases, dental procedures, and emergencies.
- Manage sick patient workups and routine medical appointments.
- Review exam findings with supervising veterinarians to refine your clinical plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
- Status as a 3rd or 4th-year student, with priority given to those in clinical years.
- Proof of professional liability insurance.
