About the role#
Join the Marketing & Sales department at Union Pacific as a year-round intern. You will gain hands-on experience in the rail transportation industry while working alongside professionals across various departments. This role involves learning core business processes and contributing to projects that support our front-line sales teams.
What you'll do#
- Support customer outreach and business development efforts.
- Provide administrative assistance to keep team projects and operations running smoothly.
- Develop and execute action plans for team projects.
- Engage with professionals across departments to build your network.
- Assist with project management and take ownership of special assignments.
- Use data analysis tools like Excel, Tableau, and Salesforce to generate reports and document work.
What you'll need#
- College credits equivalent to at least one year toward an undergraduate or graduate degree, ideally in Business Administration, Economics, or Marketing.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel or Tableau.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Omaha, Nebraska.
- Work is on-site at the Union Pacific Center.
- During the academic year, you are expected to work 15 to 25 hours per week.
- Full-time availability is required during the summer months from mid-May through early August.
- This is a paid internship.
