About the role#
Union Pacific Railroad offers a year-round internship program for students interested in Human Resources. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting the teams and programs that keep our operations moving. This role provides exposure to our business objectives and processes while you work alongside HR professionals and leadership. Interns are placed within our Talent Acquisition, Culture, or Benefits teams based on current needs.
What you'll do#
- Learn and perform core department tasks and provide customer service.
- Provide administrative support to department managers.
- Develop and execute project action plans and handle team assignments.
- Assist with project management for company initiatives.
- Complete various administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at the junior level or below.
- Completion of at least one year of college credit toward an undergraduate degree.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Basic skills in organization, prioritization, and time management.
- Enrollment in a degree program focused on Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Omaha, Nebraska.
- The role is a hybrid position, allowing for a mix of on-site and remote work.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a flexible schedule. You will typically work 15 to 25 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
