About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship running for 10 to 12 weeks during the summer of 2027. You will work alongside project managers to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. The role involves planning and coordinating onsite activities to meet project goals and deadlines. You will participate in orientation, job walks, and training workshops.
What you'll do#
- Assist project managers with various project-related functions.
- Prepare technical documentation, including reports, RFI’s, and submittals.
- Coordinate project tasks, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and verify installations.
- Troubleshoot engineering issues during design and implementation.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and project managers.
- Document meeting minutes and substitution requests.
- Help nurture client relationships and maintain productivity reports.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, construction science, architectural engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in HVAC, piping, or plumbing at a commercial, industrial, or institutional level.
- Knowledge of construction engineering technology, processes, and standards.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Self-motivation and basic business acumen.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- This position is based in Kansas City, Missouri.
- The work is on-site.
- Physical requirements include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling.
