About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Summer 2027 internship at U.S. Engineering. The program runs for 10 to 12 weeks from May through August. You will work alongside project managers to help plan and coordinate construction activities, ensuring projects meet their goals for time and budget. This role requires on-site work and may involve travel to temporary assignments or relocation depending on project needs.
What you'll do#
- Prepare technical documentation, including reports, RFI's, and submittals.
- Support project engineers with task coordination, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Visit project sites to inspect work, gather data, and verify that installations meet design specifications.
- Help identify and troubleshoot engineering issues.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and project managers.
- Take meeting minutes and document substitution requests.
- Assist with client relationship management and prepare productivity reports.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in HVAC, piping, or plumbing.
- Knowledge of construction engineering technology, processes, and standards.
- Ability to proactively identify problems and find solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Basic business acumen and the ability to build professional relationships.
- Self-motivation and the ability to drive results.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling.
