About the role#
TruStage is hiring actuarial interns for the summer of 2027. This full-time position is based in Madison, Wisconsin, and operates on a hybrid schedule. You will work within our property and casualty, life, annuity, retirement, or health practice areas. This role offers exposure to a corporate environment and access to senior leadership while you work on projects that support our financial services solutions.
What you'll do#
- Support various practice areas including property and casualty, life, annuity, retirement, or health.
- Create and run actuarial programs using tools such as PolySystems, GGY Axis, ResQ, Python, SQL, or R.
- Perform experience studies to set reasonable actuarial assumptions.
- Work on pricing, reserving, or modeling tasks.
- Maintain and enhance spreadsheets while visualizing data in Power BI or Excel.
- Calculate interest rates and dividends.
- Present and explain your work to team members and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Finance.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Term: May 31, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
- Pay: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on exam progress and prior experience.
