    About the role#

    As a Student Surgical Technologist, you will perform patient care activities and support services in a perioperative setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a Certified Surgical Technologist to help meet the safety and comfort needs of patients. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Boise, Idaho.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide age-specific patient care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
    • Assist the RN Circulator and the surgical team with room setup and equipment gathering.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized surgical environment.
    • Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts under supervision.
    • Assist with gowning and gloving members of the sterile surgical team and demonstrate self-gowning and gloving techniques.
    • Operate surgical equipment and perform functionality checks.
    • Apply knowledge of electrocautery safety and monitor for breaks in aseptic technique.
    • Assist with reviewing and updating surgeon preference cards.
    • Adhere to hospital safety policies and infection prevention standards.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Certified Surgical Technologist program.
    • Graduation expected within nine months.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire.
    • Note: ACLS or PALS certification may be accepted in place of BLS.
