About the role#
We are looking for a motivated Finance student for a hands-on Tax Internship. This role offers exposure to corporate tax functions and direct interaction with leadership. You will work on a dedicated intern project and conclude your experience with a presentation to the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance Leadership Team.
What you'll do#
- Support all aspects of sales, use, VAT/GST/HST, and property tax compliance.
- Assist with preparing and filing monthly indirect tax returns.
- Review the taxability of transactions and maintain compliance tools.
- Support audit activities and reconcile general ledger data.
- Resolve notices from taxing authorities.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to communicate indirect tax issues and develop solutions.
- Participate in networking opportunities and regular meetings with Finance leadership.
What you'll need#
- 2 to 3 years of progress toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related business major.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher, both overall and within your major.
- Demonstrated interest in tax, accounting, finance, and operations.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management.
- Strong organizational skills.
