    About the role#

    TreeHouse Foods is seeking two Packaging Engineer Co-Op students to support the Packaging Engineering and Research & Development teams at our corporate office in Oak Brook, Illinois. These positions offer hands-on exposure to packaging development and provide opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects ranging from innovation and sustainability to cost savings and quality improvements.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform technical assignments of simple to moderate complexity under supervision.
    • Collaborate with RDI groups to reach project objectives.
    • Research information for and issue packaging specifications.
    • Establish testing requirements and operating guidelines.
    • Provide technical oversight for internal and external manufacturing start-ups and ongoing technical service.
    • Participate in the testing, collection, and analysis of data on new products.
    • Assist in the execution of packaging projects, including innovation, sustainability, cost savings, quality improvements, and operations support.
    • Learn and provide technical knowledge as a member of cross-functional project teams.

    What you'll need#

    • Completion of at least 2 years in a college packaging curriculum and current enrollment in said program.
    • Basic understanding of paperboard, corrugate, film, plastics, and glass packaging materials.
    • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
    • Solid problem-solving skills.
    • Aptitude for project management, negotiation, and technical team management.
    • Ability to interact and collaborate with RDI groups, external resources, suppliers, and consultants.
    • Experience with OPS/CAPE software is preferred.

    • Work Modality: Hybrid.
    • Employment Type: Full-time.
    • Terms: Winter 2027 (January through June) or Summer 2027 (June through December).
