About the role#
Tokyo Electron US is hiring a Legal Intern for its U.S. headquarters in Austin, Texas. This is a paid, full-time summer position for 2027. You will work within a legal department that supports a multi-national corporation, collaborating with in-house teams in Japan, Europe, and across Asia. The role focuses on commercial and corporate practice rather than patent drafting or prosecution.
What you'll do#
- Engage in substantive legal work from your first day.
- Draft, revise, and analyze commercial agreements.
- Work on non-disclosure and basic transactional agreements.
- Conduct research projects and participate in client-facing meetings.
- Learn about the operation of corporate compliance programs.
- Assist with the handling and disposition of various disputes.
- Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement thinking to your projects.
- Navigate the operations of a legal department within a global company.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a J.D. program.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Preference is given to rising 2L students.
