About the role#
Tokyo Electron US is hiring a Process Engineer Co-Op for the Fall 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Albany, New York. You will work on projects that contribute to semiconductor manufacturing and fabrication. We provide training in Lean principles and expect you to apply this mindset to your daily tasks. You will complete a final project report at the end of your term.
What you'll do#
- Develop and modify processes for semiconductor manufacturing and evaluation.
- Propose criteria and formats for hardware and process evaluations alongside group engineers.
- Compile, analyze, and present experimental data to your team.
- Create and update standard operating procedures.
- Analyze test data to set limits and variables for material specifications.
- Assist in interpreting physical and chemical behaviors during process characterization.
- Learn semiconductor processing techniques through literature and hands-on work.
- Complete safety training to perform supervised work in the laboratory.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Nanoscience, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Experience with Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiment methods.
- Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Term: Fall 2027 (May 17, 2027, to December 17, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements: You may work in clean rooms, confined areas, or at heights. The role requires manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds. You will use personal protective equipment when working with chemicals, electricity, or moving mechanical parts. Occasional travel to training facilities or customer sites may be necessary.
