About the role#
This internship runs from January to June 2027. You will work with the Theme Lighting team to design and document lighting fixtures for theme park attractions, resorts, restaurants, and shops. The role involves supporting project leads with design development, technical documentation, and procurement tasks. You will work on-site in either Glendale, California, or Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Assist the team with researching and identifying available items or fixtures.
- Support design projects through technical documentation and project development.
- Create design documentation using illustrations, photographs, scaled images, and research.
- Support project leads with scope tracking and cost estimating.
- Prepare fixture selection information and documentation.
- Provide drafting support and assist with production, procurement, and shipping coordination.
- Perform technical tasks such as plotting elevations and reading reflected ceiling plans.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a Junior or higher in an accredited college or university, studying Industrial Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, or International Relations.
- Knowledge and curiosity about live or themed entertainment.
- Experience in specialty item or fixture design or fabrication.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, or Rhino.
- Ability to draft or draw by hand.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- A portfolio is required for this position and must be included on your resume.

- Compensation: $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students or $27.50 per hour for graduate students.
