About the role#
This internship focuses on mechanical engineering tasks for animatronic figures and show action equipment. You will support the engineering process from concept development through final design, production, testing, and commissioning for theme park attractions. This role is based in Glendale, California, and runs from January 2027 to June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design mechanical components under the direction of the engineering team.
- Create models and drawings using Solidworks.
- Perform machine design calculations, including load development, stress analysis, and component or motor sizing.
- Provide production support for show action equipment and animated figures.
- Assist with the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Generate drawings and engineering reports to document your designs.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher in an ABET accredited program for Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
- Ability to perform basic engineering analysis and calculations.
- Working knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
- Ability to work shifts typically between 8 am and 5 pm.

- Compensation: Paid at $31.00 per hour for undergraduates and $36.00 per hour for graduate students.
