About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to support mechanical design and hands-on production for special effects, animatronics, and show action equipment. You will work on-site in Glendale, California, from January 2027 to June 2027. This is a full-time, paid position for students currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related degree programs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with prototype fabrication and the assembly of advanced mechanical and electrical systems.
- Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, and drawing tasks while ensuring designs meet creative standards.
- Support project goals through mock-ups, system integration, and troubleshooting.
- Work alongside Quality Control and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Use CAD software to support mechanical design efforts.
- Suggest process improvements and participate in team communications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a Junior or higher in an accredited college or university.
- Hands-on experience gained through industry, school, or club projects.
- Familiarity with machining, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Proficiency with basic fabrication tools and measurement instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred experience includes Airtable, Finite Element Analysis, or Six Sigma methodology.

- Location: Glendale, California.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through June).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students; $27.50 per hour for graduate students.
- Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, possess unrestricted work authorization, and provide your own housing and reliable transportation.
