About the role#
As a WDI Set Decorator Intern, you will work within the department responsible for set decoration across Disney theme parks and resorts. This includes attractions, retail spaces, dining areas, and exterior landscapes. You will assist in the design, production, and installation of elements that help tell stories throughout our parks. This is a full-time, paid internship located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, running from January 2027 to June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, production, and installation efforts under the guidance of Principal and Senior Set Decorator Leads.
- Coordinate with show-related teams, including Creative, Architectural, and Engineering departments.
- Maintain design documentation and paperwork.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure the accurate placement of props and decorations.
- Assist in the physical installation of props and dressings in the field.
- Support design mock-ups, presentations, and project setups.
- Research historical information and design technologies to assist the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or higher in a degree program such as Architecture, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or Art.
- Working knowledge of props or set decoration for theater, film, or television.
- Understanding of how to use objects for storytelling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to read architectural drawing packages.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A portfolio of your work, which must be linked on your resume.

- Location: Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through June).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students or $27.50 per hour for graduate students.
