About the role#
Banterra Bank is looking for a student intern to support the Facilities Management team. This role provides hands-on experience in managing a multi-location portfolio of bank facilities across Southern Illinois and surrounding regions. You will work under a mentorship framework, interacting with various departments and traveling to multiple branch locations. This is a paid, part-time position of approximately 30 hours per week with a schedule that accommodates your classes.
What you'll do#
- Shadow team members to learn about facilities operations and management.
- Organize records, track requests, and maintain facility data in Excel.
- Coordinate facilities projects across various branch and office locations.
- Build a centralized facilities database by assessing branch locations.
- Create and maintain an inventory of facility assets and property characteristics.
- Contribute to special projects by conducting research and participating in meetings.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Assist with on-site tasks, including light physical work like moving items or assembling furniture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, with at least Junior standing.
- Basic knowledge in your area of study, such as construction, architecture, design, or business operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and create simple diagrams or layouts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance, as this role requires travel to different sites.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
- Experience with CAD, floor planning, or design software is a plus.
