About the role#
Banterra Bank is looking for a student intern to join our Facilities Management team. You will gain hands-on experience managing a multi-location portfolio of bank facilities across Southern Illinois. This role involves a mix of administrative tasks and on-site facilities work. You will work under a mentorship framework and interact with various departments, requiring travel to multiple branch locations.
What you'll do#
- Shadow facilities operations and management at various levels.
- Organize records, track requests, and maintain facility data in Excel.
- Coordinate facilities projects across branch and office locations.
- Conduct structured assessments of branch locations to build a centralized facilities database.
- Create and maintain an inventory of facility assets and property characteristics.
- Compile and document historical data for each location.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
- Assist with on-site tasks, which may include light physical work like moving items or assembling furniture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, with at least Junior standing.
- Coursework in Business Administration, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Graphic Design, or Real Estate.
- Basic knowledge of facilities management, construction, architecture, or business operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Ability to interpret and create simple diagrams or layouts.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and appropriate insurance coverage.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds and work in various environments, including construction sites.

- This is a paid, part-time position, approximately 30 hours per week.
