About the role#
EXP is looking for a Building Performance Intern to join our team in Coral Gables. You will support projects focused on energy, sustainability, resiliency, and facility assessments. This role provides hands-on experience working with engineers and architects to evaluate building performance and support technical studies.
What you'll do#
- Assist with building and facility assessments.
- Support energy audits, utility data analysis, and benchmarking activities.
- Collect and organize field data, photos, and building information.
- Evaluate building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building envelope components.
- Assist with technical reports, presentations, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on facility improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Building Science, Sustainability, Architecture, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Interest in building performance, energy efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
- Coursework or internship experience related to building systems, energy, sustainability, or facility assessments is preferred.
- Familiarity with energy modeling, benchmarking, GIS, or AutoCAD is a plus.
