About the role#
KABC (ABC7) is an ABC owned television station based in the Los Angeles media market. We are looking for an intern to join our technical team in Glendale, California. You will participate in developmental programming and contribute to the daily operations of a major market television station. This is a full-time, paid internship running from January 2027 through early June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Network, deploy, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software.
- Perform preventative maintenance on broadcast automation and IP transmission systems.
- Provide resolution and troubleshooting for help desk requests.
- Install various technology systems throughout the station.
- Assist with remote productions, including live community parades and remote newscasts.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably as a Junior or Senior.
- A major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Radio/Television/Film, or a related field.
- Previous academic or work experience in television, IT processes, or troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Operating Systems.
- A valid U.S. driver's license, as operating a company vehicle is required.
- Ability to multitask and maintain high attention to detail.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with unrestricted work authorization.
- Preferred experience includes help desk support, computer imaging, and familiarity with network devices like routers, switches, or firewalls.
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere or broadcast television systems such as encoders and storage systems is a plus.

- The role is located in Glendale, California.
- This is an on-site, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Availability is required for a schedule that may include nights and weekends.
- Candidates must provide their own housing and transportation.
- You must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
