About the role#
This internship places you within the Walt Disney Imagineering team in Glendale, California. You will work on the early stages of the Imagineering process, focusing on the fabrication and assembly of mechanical and electrical systems. This is a full-time, paid position running from January 2027 to June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Fabricate and assemble complex prototypical mechanical and electrical systems.
- Support the design and fabrication of illusions, special effects, and animated robotic figures.
- Produce quick mockups and iterations for design reviews.
- Research and provide information for technical publications.
- Assist with installation and integration of new or renovated attractions.
- Participate in problem-solving and brainstorming sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher in an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Design.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, wiring lists, and connector schedules.
- Basic understanding of pattern making.
- Ability to stitch, sew, and repair fabric materials.
- Ability to manage time across multiple projects.

- Compensation: $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate students.
