About the role#
The Global Security Control Center (GSCC) supports emergency and non-emergency events through global research, call mitigation, and event-driven notifications. This team serves as the central communication point for managing threats to health and safety. You will join the Strategic Operations team for a full-time, six-month internship focused on assessing data sources and reporting needs to improve operational decision-making.
What you'll do#
- Assess and document GSCC data sources, workflows, and reporting requirements.
- Evaluate the quality, accessibility, and integration potential of disparate data sources.
- Design and develop proof-of-concept dashboards and visualizations using Power BI or similar tools.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and relationships.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Support the creation of executive-level reports, scorecards, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the GSCC Specialist team, mentors, and business partners to translate requirements into analytical solutions.
- Present findings, feasibility assessments, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Assist in developing a long-term data and reporting approach for the GSCC.
What you'll need#
- Working knowledge of business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
- Familiarity with SQL or similar database query concepts.
- Experience with data transformation or scripting tools like Python or Power Query.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Junior or Senior standing in a degree program such as Data Science or Statistics.
- Interest in fields such as global security, intelligence analysis, or crisis management.

- This role is based in Burbank, California.
- The internship is an on-site, full-time commitment from January 2027 to June 2027.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess unrestricted work authorization.
- Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- You must provide your own housing and transportation.
