About the role#
The Research Assistant supports faculty and staff in the execution of grant-funded research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator. This position offers students hands-on experience while contributing to project objectives. Work involves a mix of office, laboratory, field, or remote tasks depending on the specific needs of the project. Schedules are flexible to accommodate academic commitments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with research activities as directed by the project team.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings.
- Collect, organize, and maintain research data and project records.
- Enter data into databases, spreadsheets, and other systems.
- Assist with data analysis and the preparation of reports, presentations, and research materials.
- Support project administration by scheduling meetings and maintaining documentation.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, grant requirements, and research protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of research data and sensitive information.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student status in good academic standing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous research experience is preferred.
- Experience with data analysis, statistical software, or research databases is a plus.
- Relevant coursework related to the research subject area is helpful.
