About the role#
The Facility Attendant serves as a frontline representative for the Department of Campus Recreation at the Collins Fitness Center. You will work with professional staff to ensure the facility remains safe, organized, and clean. This position is open to students, particularly those studying Kinesiology.
What you'll do#
- Monitor access to the Collins Fitness Center and greet patrons.
- Provide fitness equipment orientations.
- Assist the Building Supervisor with opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
- Facilitate the check-in and check-out of equipment.
- Assist with participant registration for group classes and personal training.
- Issue guest passes, handle liability waivers, and collect payments.
- Support Intramural sports operations.
- Enforce recreation policies and report risk management issues.
- Maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (training is provided).
What you'll need#
- A solid understanding of exercise technique.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- The ability to lift 50lbs to head level.
- Knowledge of Campus Recreation programs, policies, and procedures.
